5 of Our Hors D’oeuvres as Taylor Swift Songs

Taylor Swift has been a household name for years but has risen to a new level in 2023. Known for her impressive discography and amazing concerts, Taylor was recently named the world’s fifth most powerful woman and TIME’s Person of the Year.

Inspired by this, we decided to take a look at five of our loved hors d’oeuvres and pair them with a Taylor Swift song that we feel matches their energy. Check out our list below; we hope we did Taylor’s songs justice!

Bacon Wrapped Dates | “Out of the Woods”

Our Bacon Wrapped Dates are definitely one of our most loved hors d’oeuvres and for good reason. These small bites of goodness don’t look like much upon first glance, but one bite will surprise you with the sweetness of the date hidden underneath. These remind us of Taylor’s song “Out of the Woods” due to the deeper meaning found in the lyrics despite the poppy, simply repetitive sound of the song. Both the song and this appetizer contain more than you would think upon first look/listen!

Fried Macaroni & Cheese Bites | “You Belong with Me”

Don’t get us wrong, we adore this nostalgic, classic Taylor song, but it’s definitely on the cheesy side. It’s that cliche jock-falls-for-nerd romance that reminds us of our cheesy Fried Macaroni & Cheese Bites. 

Caprese Skewers | “august”

From the grape tomatoes to the fresh mozzarella, our Caprese Skewers have several layers to them, which brings us to the reason behind pairing them with Taylor’s song “august.” This wistful love song has many layers to it, from it actually being sung by the other woman in an affair story and being part of a storyline told through multiple of Taylor’s songs (i.e. “betty” and “cardigan”). 

Pancetta & Bleu Cheese Stuffed Cremini Mushrooms | “willow”

The delicate, soothing guitar and lyrics of romantic devotion are what make us think of our Pancetta and Bleu Cheese Stuffed Cremini Mushrooms for this song. These elegant small bites steal the show with their delicious mix of flavors, so it also makes sense to pair them with a lead single. 

Shrimp Salad Cucumber Cups | “Clean”

Our Shrimp Salad Cucumber Cups are a light bite that leaves you feeling refreshed. We chose to pair this dish with Taylor’s song “Clean” since this song leaves us feeling calm/refreshed and ready for new beginnings.
